Skull and Bones Battle Period 2 Brings New Rewards and Major Fixes
One of the biggest ongoing activities is the Verdant Chest Hunt event. Players can continue fighting Sea Lords and taking down Rode the Ghost Ship for a chance at earning Verdant Chests. These rare chests contain exclusive cosmetics tied to the Bohemian-themed outfit and ship customization set currently featured in the store. However, the drop rate appears extremely low, making the grind a long-term challenge for most players.
Many players have only managed to obtain a small number of cosmetics through gameplay so far, with items like boots being among the more common drops. Ubisoft has confirmed that the event will continue for several more weeks, giving dedicated captains more time to farm the rewards naturally instead of purchasing the cosmetic bundle directly from the store.
The in-game store also rotated in several new cosmetic items this week. Among the featured additions are the Firestorm Aura, Blades of Blaze fireworks, Red Horsemen cosmetics, the Apocalyptic Aura, and multiple weapon skins including Burning Maw, Bluefire Scourge, and Jaws of Thunder. The Premium Smuggler's Pass and Honorless Event Pass also remain available for players looking to unlock additional cosmetic rewards.
One standout item in the shop is the Ronin's Howl long gun skin, which features a detailed wolf-inspired design that immediately caught the attention of the community. Other additions include emotes, fireworks, ship skins, and themed cosmetic bundles like Burning Beast and Eternal Infernal.
For players grinding the Honorless event, there is still time to collect enough Bloody Delooms to purchase the Rogue of War ship cosmetic and the Narcissist outfit set. Together, both rewards require roughly 3,200 Delooms, making efficient farming important over the remaining days of the event.
Extra Delooms can also be exchanged through Yanita for valuable crafting materials such as Pearls, Deep Iron Plates, and Deep Iron.
Players can additionally purchase weapons, armor, furniture, crafting supplies, and cosmetics like the Lich Queen Figurehead through the seasonal vendor. For active players, the event currency remains extremely valuable even after obtaining the primary cosmetics.
Meanwhile, the biggest gameplay focus this week revolves around Battle Period 2 in the Faction War. The latest territory results brought a surprising shift in momentum. The DMC faction successfully captured Saint Anne, marking the first time in Faction War history that the DMC secured a territory containing a den. Despite that breakthrough, the Company faction still maintained an overall advantage by claiming two additional territories during the previous battle period.
The next territories up for contention include the Northeast Red Isles, Northwest Red Isles, and Central African Coast. Both factions have already earned emblems for participation, but the Company currently holds a narrow 2-1 lead overall. Players participating in faction activities can continue unlocking progressive cosmetic rewards depending on how many total territorial victories their faction achieves.
At four territory wins, players unlock sail colors. Five wins unlock hull colors. Eight wins unlock ship patterns, while eleven victories unlock nameplates. However, reaching the higher reward thresholds may prove difficult. Historically, neither faction has come close to achieving the massive twenty-one territory milestone required for the final rewards.
Battle Period 2 also increases the maximum War Effort level to 20, introducing several new rewards and gameplay tools. One of the most exciting unlocks is the Royal Ramming Works furniture piece available at level 13. This furniture significantly improves ramming-focused ship builds by increasing puncture effects, slowing enemy ships, and amplifying damage from piercing weapons.
The Brigantine and Bedar in particular benefit heavily from this furniture due to their aggressive close-range playstyles. Ships specializing in puncture builds may become significantly more threatening throughout this battle period.Another major unlock comes at level 16 with the Debris Mortar weapon. This new mortar introduces Ocean Snare effects that reduce enemy sailing speed while applying flooding and explosive damage. Combined with crowd-control builds, the mortar could become an important tool during large-scale faction engagements.
At level 20, players gain access to the Jade Phoenix Statue along with the ability to purchase faction cosmetics they may have previously missed. This system is especially appealing for collectors, as it allows access to cosmetic rewards from both the DMC and Company factions regardless of previous allegiance.
Looking ahead, level 30 rewards arriving later in the faction cycle will include additional faction auras and cosmetic drip items for both sides. This gives long-term players more incentives to continue progressing through the war effort system over the coming weeks.
Outside of gameplay rewards, Ubisoft also released a substantial patch aimed at improving stability and fixing progression issues.
Multiple server-side and client-side crashes were addressed, helping reduce unexpected disconnects and game shutdowns during gameplay sessions.
Several contracts that previously failed to progress correctly have now been fixed, including issues involving the Unwelcome Aboard contract, the Megalodon bounty spawn, and the Marked Trail progression bug. Localization improvements and co-op mission fixes were also included in the update.
Faction War immersion received attention as well. Ubisoft corrected an issue where CIO patrols incorrectly appeared inside DMC-controlled territories and vice versa. Sea monster reward scaling was also fixed to properly account for ship rank difficulty multipliers.
The developers additionally provided updates on ongoing investigations and future balancing plans. Among the top priorities are fixes for Kraken poison fog damage phases, treasure map reward adjustments, bombard balance tuning, and increased sea monster difficulty in higher world tiers.
Several major bugs remain under investigation, including Kraken reward issues, incorrect armor stat updates, UI problems, achievement tracking errors, and problems involving ascended weapon drops in World Tier 4. Ubisoft encouraged players to continue reporting bugs through the official bug reporter to help accelerate fixes.
One important note for viewers interested in developer updates is that the scheduled Deck livestream was postponed to May 28.
Ubisoft confirmed Twitch Drops will still be available during the stream, giving players another opportunity to collect exclusive cosmetic rewards simply by watching.
Overall, Battle Period 2 represents one of the more content-heavy stretches for Skull and Bones in recent memory. Between the evolving Faction War, ongoing Verdant Chest Hunt, new cosmetic rotations, make Skull and Bones Silver and large patch improvements, there is finally a strong sense of momentum building around the pirate sandbox.
The coming weeks will determine whether the Company continues its dominance or if the DMC can capitalize on its historic capture of Saint Anne and mount a real comeback. Either way, players have plenty of new reasons to return to the seas.
