Madden 26 Super Bowl & NFL Honors Guide: New Cards, Lineup Strategies, and Gameplay Tips Introduction
With the Super Bowl here, EA has dropped a ton of new content into Madden 26: past Super Bowl players, Patriots and Seahawks legends, NFL Honors cards, and some absolutely ridiculous limited-time cards. If you're looking to build the ultimate squad quickly, you can buy Madden 26 coins to acquire these top-tier players from the auction house without endless grinding. In this guide, I'll break down all the new cards, show you how to build a Super Bowl lineup, and share gameplay strategies from a full game showcase featuring JSN domination. Whether you're a free-to-play purist or looking to accelerate your progress with coins, this guide covers everything you need.
Part One: New NFL Honors & Super Bowl Cards
Jackson Smith-Njigba (JSN) – 96 Overall Super Bowl Card
The best wide receiver of the year and offensive player of the year got a Super Bowl JSN card, and it's absolutely nasty.
Attributes:
96 Speed
99 Acceleration
99 Agility
88 Jumping
94 Catching
90 Catch in Traffic
97 Spectacular Catch
98 Short Route Running
97 Medium Route Running
90 Deep Route Running
Abilities Available:
Unstoppable
Route Tech
Red Zone Threat
Grab and Go
Mid-Out Elite
Tetairoa McMillan – Limited Time 96 Overall Card
This card is ridiculous, especially considering he's 6'4" with these stats:
Attributes:
96 Speed
94 Jumping
97 Catching
98 Catch in Traffic
97 Spectacular Catch
97 Short Route Running
99 Medium Route Running
95 Deep Route Running
Key Advantage: He can get Moss as an ability. At 6'4" with Moss, he's a jump-ball nightmare. While this video focuses on JSN, Tet will be around for a while and could feature in future content like an all-rookie lineup.
Christian Gonzalez – Limited Time 96 Overall Cornerback
One of the most expensive cards in the game right now, and for good reason:
Attributes:
98 Speed
93 Acceleration
93 Agility
98 Jumping
96 Play Recognition
99 Man Coverage
99 Zone Coverage
96 Press
This card is lockdown material. With 99 man AND 99 zone, he can excel in any scheme.
Carson Schwesinger – Defensive Rookie of the Year
The defensive rookie of the year card is ridiculous:
Attributes:
93 Speed
96 Acceleration
96 Block Shed
99 Hit Power
90 Tackle
Ability Advantage: He can get X-Factors as an ability, making him a game-changer on defense.
Cooper Kupp – Limited Time Card
Can't forget about the GOAT. Cooper Kupp got a limited time card that's absolutely worth grabbing if you can afford him.
Super Bowl MVP Gold 99
Here's something to look forward to: whoever wins Super Bowl MVP gets the first gold 99 overall card of the year. If you want me to make a video on that card when it drops, hit the like button and comment below!
Part Two: Building a Super Bowl Squad Lineup
With all these new cards dropping, you can build a nasty Super Bowl-themed lineup featuring players from both the Patriots and Seahawks, plus all the NFL Honors cards.
Offensive Core:
QB: Whoever fits your scheme (the video used a QB with great arm talent)
WR1: JSN (primary weapon)
WR2: Tetairoa McMillan (jump-ball specialist)
WR3: Cooper Kupp (possession receiver)
TE: Hunter Henry (surprisingly effective out wide)
RB: Rhamondre Stevenson (solid between the tackles)
Defensive Core:
CB1: Christian Gonzalez (lockdown)
CB2: Solid coverage corner
Safeties: Mike Singleterry ("The Singularity") made plays
Linebackers: Carson Schwesinger (99 hit power changes games)
Part Three: Gameplay Strategies from JSN Domination
I played a full game showcasing these new cards, specifically featuring JSN as the focal point. Here are the key strategies and takeaways:
Offensive Game Plan
1. Establish the Quick Game
When your opponent is only running one or two defensive plays, you can counter by running similar concepts in response:
Quick slants to JSN underneath
Get the ball out fast before pressure arrives
Take what the defense gives you
In the game, I repeatedly attacked underneath when the defense was sitting back, then used play action to strike deep.
2. Use JSN's Route Running
With 98 short route and 97 medium route running, JSN creates separation instantly:
Curl routes against soft coverage
Dig routes over the middle
Quick outs against press man
The defender simply couldn't keep up with the speed and precision.
3. Mix in Play Action
Once the defense starts cheating underneath, play action becomes deadly:
Double seam routes
Deep crosses
Posts
One play action resulted in a perfect deep ball to JSN that I thought might get dropped, but he hauled it in for a massive gain.
4. Don't Be Afraid to Check Down
When everything is covered, check down to your running back. Rhamondre Stevenson made several plays late in the game, partly due to better blocking as the game wore on.
5. Jump Balls to Tet
With Tet's height and Moss ability, jump balls in the red zone are nearly automatic. One high ball to Tet in the end zone resulted in a perfect touchdown read—even though the defender was there, Tet went up and got it.
Defensive Strategies
1. Patience in Coverage
The key to defense in this game is staying disciplined. On several plays, I thought passes were completed only for my defender to make a play:
A laser that looked destined for a completion ended up covered
Christian Gonzalez jumped a route for a huge interception
Mike Singleterry made a game-sealing pick
2. Trust Your Playmakers
When you have elite defenders like Gonzalez (99 man/zone) and Schwesinger (99 hit power), you can be more aggressive. Gonzalez's interception came on a play where I thought the ball was too covered to be thrown—but my opponent threw it anyway, and Gonzalez made him pay.
3. Bend Don't Break
Even when the offense moves the ball, focus on:
Tackling in space (no big plays)
Keeping everything in front of you
Forcing field goals instead of touchdowns
Missing a field goal (totally my fault—I've been playing too much College Football where you don't need as much kick power) kept the game close, but the defense held when it mattered.
Situational Football
Red Zone Efficiency:
Use high-point passes to big receivers (Tet)
Mix in run plays to keep defense honest
Quick slants when they press
Two-Minute Drill:
When the opponent is driving late, expect:
Crossers over the middle
Sideline shots to stop the clock
Runs to chew clock (if they're ahead)
The final drive of the game saw my opponent marching, but Mike Singleterry came up with an interception to seal the 27-17 victory.
Final Thoughts
This Super Bowl content drop is one of the best of the year. Between the NFL Honors cards (JSN, Tet, Schwesinger), the limited-time elites (Gonzalez, Cooper Kupp), and the promise of a gold 99 Super Bowl MVP, there's something for every type of player.
Quick Recap of Must-Get Cards:
JSN: Best receiver in the drop, uncoverable with elite route running
Christian Gonzalez: 99 man AND 99 zone, worth every coin
Tetairoa McMillan: 6'4" with Moss ability, red-zone nightmare
Carson Schwesinger: 99 hit power with X-Factor potential
Gameplan Takeaways:
Establish the quick game, then strike deep with play action
Trust your elite defenders to make plays
Manage the clock and know your kicker's range
When your opponent runs one or two plays, counter with similar concepts
