7 Hidden Dribble Moves That Will Make You Unstoppable in NBA 2K26
If you’ve been struggling to create space or get open looks in NBA 2K26, it’s time to change that. The community is about to get mad, but we don’t care - here are seven moves that will make scoring so much easier. Whether you’re dominating 1v1s, running point in Rec, or cooking defenders in the Park, mastering these moves is essential - and if you want to upgrade your squad even faster, consider buying NBA 2K26 MT to maximize your in-game potential.
1. The Jason Tatum Hop Burst (Triple Threat Starter)
This is easily one of the best scoring tools in the game. It lets you explode forward or sideways out of a triple threat, setting up multiple options - a cross, snatchback, or escape. It’s incredibly hard to guard because you can branch into so many different actions afterward.
How to do it:
· Equip the Jason Tatum Hop Jumper.
· Hold RT/R2 while in triple threat.
· Flick and hold your right stick toward your weak hand (left if right-handed).
· As soon as the animation starts, push your left stick forward to burst toward the hoop.
You can also mix it up - after the hop, flick right stick down to snatch back or flick it back to your dominant side for an escape. Once mastered, defenders will have no idea where you’re going next.
2. The Strong-Hand Burst (Custom Move)
This is the perfect counter to the Tatum hop. It works toward your strong hand and gives you another quick acceleration option out of the triple threat.
How to do it:
· Hold RT/R2 the entire time.
· Flick right stick up or diagonally up toward your strong hand.
· Immediately after, move and hold your left stick diagonally forward toward your strong hand.
Timing is key - the faster you chain the motions, the quicker the burst. Use it when your defender is backing off just a bit.
3. Right Stick Cancel (The Meta Breaker)
If you only learn one move from this list, make it this one. The Right Stick Cancel works with everything - snatchbacks, escapes, behind-the-backs, even explosive combos. It’s one of the best ways to create instant separation.
How to do it:
· Hold RT/R2 while moving.
· For a snatchback: run right, then flick right stick up, then down, and run left.
· For an escape: flick right stick up, then left or right, depending on direction.
You can repeat this back and forth (“spam” it) for fast, unpredictable movement. Every elite dribbler in 2K26 uses this - learn it, and you’ll instantly play at a higher level.
4. The Emote Speed Boost (Custom Move)
One of my personal creations - and nobody expects it. It looks like a harmless hesitation, then boom — you’re gone.
How to do it:
· Equip the Laughing Dribbling Emote.
· From a standstill, hold RT/R2, click down on the D-pad, and immediately hold your left stick up diagonal toward your ball hand.
It’s simple but deadly, especially when combined with the Lonzo Cross or a quick fade.
5. Fade Out of the Lonzo Cross
Normally, shooting after a Lonzo cross triggers a small hop jumper. But with the right input, you can turn it into a smooth fade that gives you tons of space - and leaves defenders frozen.
How to do it:
After performing the Lonzo cross, shoot with your right stick instead of the button. That’s it. You’ll trigger a fast fade instead of a hop, creating separation every time. Pair it with the Tatum Hop setup, and defenders won’t know whether you’re driving or fading.
6. The New Walk Back
Simple. Clean. Effective. This new walk back move gives you open jumpers all day - it looks basic, but it’s nearly impossible to guard when timed right.
How to do it:
· After a speed boost, release RT/R2.
· Immediately pull down on your left stick, then flick your right stick horizontally or diagonally up.
· Keep holding the left stick down, then release it and shoot.
Once you get the rhythm down, you’ll be greening easy shots over defenders trying to recover.
7. Escape → Booker → Self-Lob Combo
This is pure flash, but it works - especially when your defender is pressing high.
How to do it:
· Hold RT/R2.
· Flick right stick left, then up to activate the Devin Booker Hop Jumper.
· Immediately press X + Y (or Square + Triangle on PlayStation) to throw a self-lob.
You’ll glide right past your opponent for an easy highlight finish.
Bonus: The Push Peak
Start this move behind half-court. Begin a push dribble by flicking up on the right stick while running. Then, as the ball switches hands, shoot with your right stick pulled diagonally down opposite your movement direction. It’s perfect for Threes and Fives and nearly impossible to contest.
Master these seven moves - and the bonus - and you’ll be unstoppable in NBA 2K26. Practice them in MyCourt or Gatorade Gym until they’re second nature. Once you can chain them fluidly, you won’t just be scoring more - you’ll be toying with defenders, and to make your grind even easier, consider using Cheap NBA 2K MT to upgrade your players and unlock these moves faster.
